The End of Building pvp ready toons?
(Source: http://www.guildwars.com/insider/iss...tml#designerQA )
it looks like soon we'll be able to have 4 unique weapon sets and armour swaps on our PvP Toons
May i be the first to say, WTFAWESOME
*Ahem*
But if this is for real, the barrier for high end pvp just dropped signifcantly, while pve only weapons (Char sword for example) will still be needed to stay 100% competative, considering you can armour weapon rune and profession change, you dont actually need to ever delete a pvp toon (except to change primary), so keeping these items on them is a moot point
(just after i spent 100's of K on my pvp ready monk :P)
if this is true, cheers anet

Well, there's always the sex bomb factor pve characters offer, plus the setimental attachment. But if it's true...good for Guild Wars, good for balance.
Also, tommy...you're like an uber PVPer. So are you taking it from yourself? because that's weird.

All I can say is... finally.
Basically now, all you ahve to do is a fairly low amount of PvEing (just to get some items like victo's bulwark and charr sword) and transfer weapons to a PvE character to be competetive. THANK YOU ANET!

Still need multiple sets of armor/helm's or to lock armor when entering a battle in order to elminate the differance from pve/pvp.

You still can't make a +55hp axe in the PvP creation screen, or an energy-2 scroll.
Oh, who am I kidding this is awesome.
It's actually really flattering to the game balance that we see this as 'unbalanced'

reat change indeed. I only have 1 pve char that i actually pvp with and that costed me way too much, so this change means i probably never HAVE to do pve again.

I hope you are right. The only advantage PvE players should get is fashion imo.

You can use this Equipment Builder whenever you’re in an outpost with a PvP-only character and make any item you could make during PvP character creation. Unlocked a new rune at the Priest of Balthazar? You can immediately make yourself some armor with that rune in it. Want four full weapon sets? No problem.
|
I can only assume this will allow us to create a second/however many else set of armor.

On one hand this is nice for all the pvp only ppl out there. But ont eh other hand, it's kind of sad that Anet has decided to basically make two seperate games out of GW. I kind of liked the idea that the highest form of PvP synergized with Pve...

How did it synergize, exactly? You mean that a player who should be working on his/her competitive game has to set aside lots of that time to get a full PvE toon ready for PvP?
Yes, that's excellent synergy.

There's always going to be people (like me) who will use PvE characters for some classes (the classes they primarily play) simply because they like having nice looking armour and weapons. This will really help PvP, and we will see less PvP ready PvE characters, but we still see some PvP ready characters from people who either already had them, or people that don't like the standard character look.

And thats the great thing, its going to be optional to have the looks, not required grind

The synergy was that the highest level of pvp was available upon completion of pve -- thus the idea of pvp being the true end game of pve; I believe this was the original intention of the game. Now it's jsut two seperate games. Why play pve if not to just be a fashion junkie. Got to love you zeal about HAVING to practice pvp with all your gaming time in order to stay competitve though. I mean, taking a break for 4 days to get a pve ready toon would really jsut cripple any chance of victory...
